THE ESSENTIAL HISTORIC LOWER MANHATTAN PRIVATE THREE-HOUR WALKING TOUR

Exploring New York’s Origins and More… To best understand the history of New York City, one starts in Lower Manhattan, the Financial District. In this tour, you’ll discover landmarks from the 17th century when the city was still New Amsterdam; landmarks from 18th-century New York when George Washington led the Continental Army in pursuit of American independence; and notable spots from the era of slavery, through the 20th century when Wall Street became the world’s financial capital, to the post-9/11 New York of today. For several years I worked various office jobs throughout this part of the city. During lunch breaks I’d wander and explore. Daily I’d be surprised and delighted by the area’s fascinating jumble of history, design, and harbor views. It’s one of my pleasures to turn others onto this unique corner of the world.
